Seriously? Seriously, Avalanche you are going to have the best game of the season against one of the top teams in the league and then the VERY next game play one of our sloppiest games against a team who is now ranked 25th (we are 26th)? Though, that might even be giving the Avs too much credit, we’ve had plethora of horrendous games to choose from. We always seem to play to the level of the team we are playing.
This is how I feel about our PK tonight
As Roy so elegantly put it, as he so usually does, “I didn’t think we could have been any worse than we were in Florida”. Roy of course was referring to the game against the Panthers where we allowed 3 power play goals, and lost 1-4. Well, the Avs sure proved Roy wrong tonight with allowing FOUR power play goals, and one short handed for a combined pathetic fail of 1-5. The only good thing I can take away from this disaster, aside from the game actually being over, was that at least two of the goals scored against us tonight came from former Av, P.A. Parenteau. If someone is going to score against us, I’d rather it be an old admired teammate. That and we did generate 35 shots on goal, though it doesn't really matter when only one goes in and you allow 5 against...
Is there something in the water in Colorado that is making our sport teams play like they’re bipolar? You know, they have medication for that? I just hope that the Avs AND the Broncos find the right mood-stabilizer ASAP so that us Colorado sport fans don’t start talking about baseball season come December. Let’s brush off this loss and come back strong for our next game on Thursday against the Pens. And by the way, no matter how much we can suck, the Red Wings always suck more!
