I gotta say, I like playing back East, not only do the games end early so I can still get to bed at a nice time, but it appears that we are actually able to win. Tonight the Avs were down 2-0 early after a couple of quick goals by Boston (goaltending interference anyone?), but were able to come back and tie it late in the first with goals by Soderberg and Bauchemin. Things calmed down a bit in the second, with the Avs killing a couple of key power plays, but it wouldn’t come until 7 minutes into the 3rd where Duchene fired one past Rask. Duchene now has been red hot (about bloody time) with 6 goals in the last 5 games.
Props must also be credited to Berra, who has a combined 52 saves out of 54 in the last two games, and is now currently leading the league in save percentage with .952. All around, I’d say it was a solid, and much needed win for the boys. After coming off of a 4-0 victory over the Flyers on Tuesday, it was huge for us to build off of that win, and now for the first time this season we have won 2 in a row. That’s not exactly a great stat seeing as it is now mid-November, but hey, it is a start.
And with that, this little Avs fan is going to be able to not only go to bed early, but will rest much easier now that her boys got the W. It will also make waking up that much better, that and it being Friday. Good night and good luck Avs fans!
