Your Avs Men of Movember... and Turd Crosby

Last night when I remembered the World Series was on, I was eager to have an excuse to change the channel. Excited to watch baseball over hockey? Yes, that’s how bad we looked on Tuesday versus Nashville, and why this article is not going to be about how the Avs are doing.

It is just too good not so share the Turd's poop stache again.

Now that Halloween is over, it can only mean one thing: Movember is upon us. It is that time of year, and one of my favorites, where everyone can all make fun of Turd Crosby and his nasty pube stache.

The Colorado Avalanche will be participating in Movember again this year, and have teamed up with the Movemeber Foundation to promote men’s health. The Movember Foundation stated back in 2003, when two Aussie mates were having some beers and discussing if they could bring the mustache back into fashion. It generated such success that the following year, they decided to create a foundation that would raise funds prostate cancer.

What started as 30 blokes growing a muzzy for the hell of it the month of November, the organization has now turned into an international sensation raising awareness for prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention. Since 2003, the organization has had over 5 million Mo Bros (and Mo Sistas) participants, raised over $750 million, and helped fund 1,200 men’s health projects.

Select Avalanche members are participating again this year in support of the Movember Foundation. Some players aren’t as gifted in the facial hair department as say, Mandeskog, with Joe Colborne stating “It’s going to be ugly for me…especially for a guy like me who it will take most of the month just so people can actually see it.”

Fans can donate in support of their favorite Avalanche staches by going to https://us.movember.com/mospace/team/2253459

The event It will culminate in the ‘Sport Your Stache Night’ when the Avs faceoff against the Columbus Blue Jackets on December 1st where ticket purchases will include a $5 donation to the Movember Foundation.

Cheers to a Happy Movember!
