New Year, new Avs? Ha! More like New Year, same bad Avs. If anyone was missing my lack of content, it is due simply to the fact that I haven’t had anything good to say, and as the saying goes “If you don’t have anything good to say don’t say anything at all”. So I haven’t.
Just to be clear, I still love the Avs, but find it physically painful to write about them. I can’t say I am surprised we are doing poorly, but I certainly think we would be this bad. The Broncos are out of the playoffs, the Avs are certainly not making the playoffs, and it is only January. I am prepared for a lack of sports in the summer, but there is still a long winter ahead. It is depressing. Therefore, I have decided that I will shift the focus of the blog for the time being to encompass other Avs and general hockey related topics. Of course, if the Avs somehow make a miraculous comeback, I will be sure to discuss it. Until then, know that no news is bad news.
New Year’s allows us the opportunity to start over, and while it may be too late for the Avs to do so, it’s not too late to change my attitude about the Avs. Here is to a Happy New Year where hopefully I can find a way to let go of the fact that we play like an AHL team, and work on finding a way to still enjoy the sport I love despite my team’s performance.
